The non-academic section of a school plays a vital role in supporting the overall development and safety of students outside the classroom, focusing on activities that enhance personal and physical growth, social skills, and well-being. This section includes extracurricular activities such as sports, arts and drama. These activities offer students the opportunity to explore their interests, develop talents, and build teamwork, leadership, and communication skills. Additionally, this section comprises of services and facilities that support offering other forms of rehabilitative efforts complementing the educational intervention such as ear-mould fitting, identification and assessment of levels of hearing loss, physical therapy and provisioning of assistive devices, vision restoration, and manpower development through vocational training. All these departments cater to both the students and out-of-school beneficiaries.

Football Ground

The school is committed to not only academic pursuit, but to the physical development of the children and foster healthy habits in them, thereby, promoting their overall physical, mental and emotional well-being. The primary intention behind the creation of the football ground was for ensuring that children had a space to exercise their innate physical faculties and achieve fitness of the mind and body, as the saying goes “a healthy consciousness, mind and soul can only thrive in a healthy frame”. As such, the school has made an adequate investment in building a Football Ground where the children can socialize through football game on a daily basis. Therefore, part of the hill slope was converted into the playing field, however, due to space constraints and topography of the location it couldn’t be transformed into a full-fledge football field.

Basketball Court

Acknowledging the fact that children have diverse interests, and that there is “No One Size that Fits All”, also taking into cognizance the physical education requirements of the children, the construction of Basketball Court was envisioned. The initiative was sanctioned by Italian Bishops Conference (CEI) and was constructed in the year 2020. The area is securely enclosed by an iron fence, providing a safe environment that expands the opportunities for kids to engage in physical activities. Additionally, the space offers flexibility to accommodate a variety of outdoor physical activities beyond its original intended purpose

Assembly Hall

The school’s pavilion which was sponsored by Fr. George SDB and Mr. Samuel Kharkongor constructed in 2018 and completed in 2019 serves myriad purposes. It’s the school’s daily assembly area, cater to social activities of the students and teachers and other staff, a parking space for the Centre’s vehicles and a space where academic related functions and programmes are held. Overall, the upsides of the pavilion are that it has not only facilitated in the conduction of myriads of activities which would have been impossible under certain weather conditions like rain and extreme sunshine, but has also been protecting the staff, students and teachers from dust.

Hostels for Boys and Girls

The centre provides accommodation and food to both boys and girls. There are    separate hostels which are equipped with a variety of important facilities like dormitory, study area, dining hall, shower room and lavatory, washing and drying. Each of the hostel has a warden who look after the children to ensure that they are safe and adhere to the hostel’s etiquettes and timings. Furthermore, there is regular evening tuition wherein children given the needed help, encouraged and monitored as far as their studies are concerned. Additionally, they are involved a variety of programmes and functions which assist the holistic growth and development of their faculties including their emotional and social skills. Disabled Friendly Park

The disabled friendly park was constructed through the support of Raise NE project based in Shillong and Italian Bishops Conference (CEI) with the intended purpose of providing a space for relaxation, recreation and enjoyment to the students, parents and visiting individuals. The park has been constructed with safety in mind keeping the resultant structures simple yet elegant. It is well protected by an iron fencing and a gate thereby protecting the constructed structures from potential vandalism and theft. The park supports the Centre’s goal of creating and enhancing student’s safety, quality learning environment and psychological well-being. It provides a space for deep introspection and self-growth.
